Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines, about to emerge from U.S. bankruptcy court, are recalling hundreds of furloughed pilots and flight attendants.
Delta, the nation's No. 3 carrier, will recall 1,000 of its 3,800 furloughed flight attendants for job openings in 2007, USA Today reported Friday. That's in addition to 300 already recalled by the Atlanta airline.
Northwest, the nation's No. 5 carrier, will recall more than 400 furloughed pilots to fill 225 pilot openings over the next several months.
Both airlines, each of which filed for creditor protection last year and expect to leave bankruptcy next year, are getting more jets and Delta is adding scores of flights.
