St. Vincent's names chief medical officer

Jacksonville Business Journal

St. Vincent's Health System has named Dr. Phil Perry its chief medical officer. Perry is an anesthesiologist who has practiced at St. Vincent's for more than 20 years and is currently president-elect of the St. Vincent's medical staff.

Perry, who will take over his new position June 10, has served two terms as chief of St. Vincent's anesthesiology department. He will be responsible for medical staff development, physician credentialing, medical management support and the quality and risk management of the medical staff.

St. Vincent's Chief Operating Officer Scott Whalen said Perry will be a valuable addition to St. Vincent's management as it negotiates a rapidly changing health-care industry.

"He is able to spot strategic issues well in advance and help us craft our responses to those challenges," said Whalen. "He also has a deep and abiding commitment to the mission at St. Vincent's."
